Suspected of qualified theft and investigated for domestic violence, suspects arrested in Irati

Arrests in Irati were carried out on Monday (14) by the Civil Police of the Paraná (PCPR), through the 41st Regional Police Station, during the fulfillment of two pre-trial arrest warrants issued by the Judiciary. The actions took place in Irati and Fernandes Pinheiro, involving investigations related to qualified theft, threat and non-compliance with protective measures.

The first arrest took place in the early afternoon, when a 26-year-old man spontaneously appeared at the Irati police unit to perform. Against him there was a warrant for pre-trial detention related to a case of qualified theft that occurred on August 3, 2026, in the central region of the municipality.

According to PCPR, the crime involved another man, who had been imprisoned since August 21. The previous arrest was carried out by police teams in the town of Caratuva, in the rural area of Irati.

The two investigators have already been denounced by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and are currently responding to a criminal action in the Court.

The second action involving arrests in Irati and the region came with the support of police teams who travelled to Fernandes Pinheiro, a neighboring municipality, to comply with pretrial arrest warrants and house search and seizure against a 42-year-old man.

The suspect is being investigated for the crimes of threat and non-compliance with emergency protective measures, in a case related to domestic violence against the former partner. The events were reported to have occurred on September 2, this year, in the municipality of Irati.

According to the Civil Police, the man was already serving his sentence in a semi-open regime harmonized with electronic monitoring, after being convicted of the crime of reception.

During the execution of the search and seizure warrant, the police located and seized a cell phone. The equipment will be referred for technical expertise and may assist in the progress of the investigations.

After the arrests, the two men were sent to the custody of the Criminal Police, where they remain at the disposal of the Justice.

The Civil Police of Paraná reinforces the importance of the participation of the population in the fight against crime. Information that may assist in the investigations can be passed on anonymously by the telephone numbers 197 of the Civil Police or 181 of the Disk-Denouncement.
