Taekwondo gains spotlight in Ponta Grossa Chamber with tribute to masters and athletes
Ponta Grossa Chamber celebrates Municipal Day of Taekwondo with tribute to masters and athletes and highlights the social importance of the sport.
Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa held a celebration on Tuesday evening (27) in honor of Municipal Taekwondo Day. The event brought together teachers, athletes and representatives of the sport to recognize the contribution of sport to the sport and social development of the municipality.
The date was instituted in the official calendar of Ponta Grossa through a bill authored by the councilor Leandro Bianco (Republicans). The initiative seeks to enhance the professionals and practitioners who contribute to the growth of taekwondo in the city.
The Solemnity was attended by the 7th Grand Master Dan Jefferson Machado, as well as teachers, athletes and other people involved in promoting martial arts in Ponta Grossa.
Sports that go beyond competitions
During the tribute, the importance of taekwondo as a tool for education and social transformation was highlighted. In addition to the physical benefits, the modality works principles such as discipline, respect, determination, self-control and perseverance.
For the councilor Leandro Bianco, officially recognizing the modality means valuing the work carried out daily by teachers, teachers and families.
Taekwondo goes far beyond martial arts. It is a training tool, which teaches respect, discipline and perseverance. To recognize this modality is also to value the teachers, teachers, athletes and families who work daily to strengthen the sport in our city," he said.
Recognition of athletes and encouragement to sport
The creation of the Municipal Taekwondo Day also represents an incentive to the continuity of sports projects that offer opportunities for personal and social development for the population.
Bianco stressed that public recognition is a way to encourage those who dedicate time and knowledge to training new athletes.
“I am happy to see this work being recognized. The sport transforms lives, creates opportunities and helps to form citizens. Our goal is to continue valuing these initiatives and those who make a difference in the sport of Ponta Grossa," he added.
With the celebration, the Câmara Municipal reinforces the recognition of taekwondo and the professionals who work to expand the presence of the sport in the Ponta Grossa sports scene.
