Technical bus fare in Ponta Grossa rises 7.5%; understand
Technical fare for public transportation registers increase in September, but passage price paid by users remains unchanged
The technical tariff for Ponta Grossa public transport increased by 7.5% in September, from R$ 7.33 to R$ 7.88. The new value was officialized by the City Council through Municipal Decree no 26.924/2026, published in the Official Gazette on Monday (21).
The increase of R$ 0.55 occurs after the reduction recorded in August, when the technical tariff had fallen from R$ 7.59 to R$ 7.33. With the update, the reference value of the bus system exceeds that recorded in July.
Passage remains at R$ 6
Despite the increase in the technical fare, the ticket paid directly by users remains at R$ 6. The technical fare represents the reference cost for the collective transport operation, while the public fare corresponds to the value actually charged to passengers.
With the update, the difference between the two amounts reaches R$ 1.88. However, this does not mean that the City will automatically pay this amount per passenger, since the financial impact depends on the remuneration rules of the system. The decree establishes that the technical tariff of R$ 7.88 will be valid from 1st to 30th September 2026.
