Ten dogs rescued after landslide that killed three people in Ponta Grossa

Ten dogs were rescued after the landslide in the Ronda neighborhood, in Ponta Grossa, registered on Thursday (10). According to information confirmed by the CRAR Clinic, there are seven puppies and three adult dogs, who were referred for veterinary care after the occurrence.

As soon as they arrived at the unit, the animals underwent screening and clinical evaluation. According to the Clinician, some of them needed to receive bandages and specific care because of the conditions found after the slide.

Despite this, so far, all ten dogs have a stable clinical condition and continue to receive follow-up and assistance from the veterinary team.

Animals will remain under veterinary care

The CRAR Clinic informed that the animals will continue to be welcomed by the institution while the responsible family members evaluate what the next referrals will be.

In a note, the Clinical deplored the tragedy and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims.

“At this time, our commitment is to provide all the necessary veterinary care, shelter and assistance to these animals, which will remain under our care until relatives can define the next referrals,” he said.

The study involves, in addition to veterinary evaluation, the monitoring of the clinical evolution of dogs that needed care after being removed from the affected region.

The tragedy left three victims.

The rescue of the animals took place in the context of the tragedy recorded during the morning of Thursday in the Ronda neighborhood. A landslide hit a residence located in a hillside region.

Three people from the same family died, including two adults and a 5-year-old child. Firefighters, Defesa Civil and other municipal bodies acted in the attendance of the occurrence and in the evaluation of the affected area.

According to the Fire Department, the land ceded to the side of the residence, knocked down part of the structure and hit one of the rooms of the property.

While the authorities continue with the surveys related to the conditions of the area, the ten dogs removed from the site remain protected and receiving veterinary care.

The Clinicão reinforced that it will continue to be responsible for the care of the seven puppies and three adult dogs until it is possible to establish, together with the relatives, the fate of the animals.
