The situation of the STF can only be addressed with the swift and effective action of the so-called "4th power": the press.

It is not a question of replacing the constituted Powers, but of strengthening an essential mechanism of democracy: an informed society capable of controlling those who exercise power.
When the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary have institutional instruments of control, but society cannot follow, understand and question its decisions in a timely manner, an imbalance arises.
It is in this space that the press exercises its public function: investigating, informing, confronting versions, revealing facts and giving visibility to the decisions that affect society.
But speed is not enough. Permanent monitoring, independence, accountability and transparency are required.
A healthy democracy does not depend solely on good rulers or good judges. It also depends on a society capable of seeing, understanding and reacting institutionally to the acts of those who exercise power.
Free press is not opposition to the state.
It's power oversight.
And perhaps the most important question is:
Who controls who controls power?
