Tibagi Dance School closes 2026 with a show at Edmundo Mercer Square

The Tibagi Municipal Dance School is preparing a special show to mark the closure of 2026 activities. With the theme “Letters to Yesterday — A Journey through the Memories that Time Saved”, the presentation takes place on December 12, at 8 pm, in Edmundo Mercer Square, in Tibagi.

Promoted through the Peter Allan House of Culture, the show brings together students from the Municipal Dance School in a production led by teachers and choreographers Gabriely Bueno and Ana Clara Bueno.

The proposal is to transform into dance feelings linked to the passage of time, to nostalgia and to the memories of moments, people and phases that remain in the memory.

Show turns memories into movement

“Letters for Yesterday” is part of a simple reflection: who has never missed an era that never comes back?

From this idea, songs, movements and different scenic elements were brought together to lead the public on a journey through the memories that remain even with the passing of the years.

According to teacher and choreographer Gabriely Bueno, the show was born from the desire to approach precisely what time changes, but which memory can preserve.

This is what “Letters for Yesterday” is about. A journey through nostalgia for the things that have been left behind, the dreams that have changed, the people that have passed, the phases that have ended, and those little moments that time has taken, but the memory has decided to save.

Each choreography was prepared as a different way to revisit these experiences. The intention is to make the audience also establish a connection between what happens on stage and the memories themselves.

“Between songs, movements and memories, EMD invites you to go back for a few moments to places that only exist within us,” Gabriely adds.

Presentation closes activities of 2026

In addition to the artistic proposal, the show represents the closure of another year of activities of the Municipal Dance School of Tibagi.

During 2026, students participated in classes and activities involving technique, body expression, musicality, interpretation and artistic creation. The result of this work will be presented to the community during the December show.

The realization in a public space also seeks to bring the population closer to the cultural production developed in the municipality and to value the work carried out by students and teachers throughout the year.

For Gabriely, some memories don’t need to be revived to stay present.

“Because some memories don’t have to happen again. They just need to be remembered,” he said.

The visual identity of “Letters for Yesterday” also counts on the participation of a member of the Municipal School of Dance itself. The art of dissemination was created by the artist Vivian Garcia, who is also a dancer of EMD.
