Four new vehicles were delivered on Wednesday (September 30th) in Tibagi to strengthen the patient transport structure in the districts of São Bento and Caetano Mendes. Two ambulances were destined for São Bento, one of them with 4×4 traction, in addition to an ambulance and a van with capacity for 21 passengers for Caetano Mendes.

The deliveries were attended by councilors and local leaders from the two districts, who accompanied the presentation of the new vehicles. The vehicles expand the available structure for the displacement of patients who need care, consultations, examinations and procedures outside the districts, including trips to Tibagi, Curitiba, Campo Largo and other cities in the region.

In Caetano Mendes, the new ambulance should also contribute to the emergency and emergency services carried out by the team of the Basic Health Unit. According to nurse Cândido Penteado de Carvalho, the distance to the headquarters of the municipality increases the demand for transport in the district.

“The demand is very high. I've always asked to have two cars, because one comes out and there's another for emergencies. Having this, we can make it possible to get to the hospital faster and offer greater support,” he explained.

The professional also highlighted the impact of having a new vehicle. “The whole structure makes a difference. We can give mais conforto to the patient,” he said.

4X4 VEHICLE EXTENDED SERVICE IN RURAL AREAS

In São Bento, one of the new ambulances has 4×4 traction, a feature that should facilitate the displacement of teams on rural roads served by the unit.

Nurse Paula Gomes pointed out that a large part of the care occurs in areas of difficult access. “Most of our road is rural, so it’s dirt road. Sometimes we have a certain difficulty. This ambulance came to add up and much to carry out the cares in the interior," he reported.

She said the renewal of the vehicles also benefits patients and professionals. “They are new vehicles and this will give a quality of patient care, which is our main focus,” he added.

TRANSPORTATION ATTENDS MORADORES DE CAETANO MENDES AND REGION

According to the municipal secretary of Health, Sérgio Aldo da Silva, the transport structure of Caetano Mendes serves not only the district, but also communities in the region. The fleet travels, on average, 150,000 kilometers per year to meet demand.

“This ambulance will serve our region, taking our population, which is more than 5,000 people served here. The van will also transport our patients to the specialties in Curitiba, Campo Largo and the entire region that meets these demands,” he explained.

The secretary also stressed that the visits for consultations and procedures take place daily. “It will bring this benefit to the Caetano Mendes region and the entire community, with mais conforto,” he said.

In addition to the four vehicles delivered on Wednesday, the Ministry of Health expects new investments in the renewal of the fleet. Among them are three Spin vehicles, a Strada, a bus and other acquisitions that will be incorporated into the Health transport structure.

INVESTMENTS EXTENDE HEALTH STRUCTURE

During the delivery, the mayor Rildo Leonardi stressed that the renewal of the fleet seeks to offer better transport conditions for patients and professionals, especially given the distances covered by the residents of the districts.

“It is very important to be bringing two new vehicles to each district today. We know that when people move to Curitiba, Campo Largo and so many other regions of the Paraná, they need a little more comfort. These vehicles come to bring this so that they can go to their appointments, examinations and surgeries in a better way,” he said.

Rildo also mentioned the need for safety on rural roads. “Rural roads are dangerous and we want safety for those who go for consultation, safety for our drivers, nurses and shift workers, so that we can offer more quality of life for the people of Tibagi,” he said.

According to the mayor, the investments are part of an expansion of the health structure in the municipality. “Health has been a priority in our management from 2017 to 2020. And it is the highest priority in our management that began in 2025 and will end in 2028,” he said.

The delivery of the vehicles integrates the actions of renewal of the Health fleet and strengthening of the care structure in the districts, with the aim of improving the transport conditions and the access of the residents to the health services.
