The City of Tibagi delivered on Wednesday (30) four new vehicles to reinforce the transport of patients in the districts of São Bento and Caetano Mendes. The new structure includes three ambulances and a van with capacity for 21 passengers.

São Bento received two ambulances, one of them equipped with 4x4 traction. Caetano Mendes now has a new ambulance and a van designed to transport patients for consultations, examinations and other procedures.

The delivery was attended by councilors and local leaders of the two districts.

The vehicles will be used mainly for the displacement of residents who need care outside the communities where they live, including trips to the headquarters of Tibagi, Curitiba, Campo Largo and other municipalities in the region.

New ambulance reinforces care in Caetano Mendes

In Caetano Mendes, in addition to the scheduled transport of patients, the new ambulance should reinforce the emergency and emergency care carried out by the team of the Basic Health Unit.

According to nurse Cândido Penteado de Carvalho, the distance between the district and the city headquarters increases the need to keep vehicles available for emergency situations.

“The demand is very high. I've always asked to have two cars, because one comes out and there's another for emergencies. Having this, we can make it possible to get to the hospital faster and offer greater support,” he explained.

The professional also highlighted that the renewal of the fleet provides mais conforto during transport.

“The whole structure makes a difference. We can give mais conforto to the patient,” he said.

4x4 ambulance will be used in rural areas

In São Bento, one of the main novelties is the arrival of an ambulance with 4x4 traction. The vehicle should facilitate care in rural communities and regions with dirt roads.

Nurse Paula Gomes pointed out that a good part of the trips made by the teams takes place inside the district.

“Most of our road is rural, so it’s dirt road. Sometimes we have a certain difficulty. This ambulance came to add up and much to carry out the cares in the interior," he reported.

According to her, the new vehicles should improve the working conditions of the teams and the service offered to the population.

“They are new vehicles and this will give a quality of patient care, which is our main focus,” he added.

Fleet travels about 150,000 kilometers per year

According to the municipal secretary of Health, Sérgio Aldo da Silva, the vehicles available in Caetano Mendes also serve residents of nearby communities.

According to the secretary, the fleet destined for the region travels approximately 150,000 kilometers per year.

“This ambulance will serve our region, taking our population, which is more than 5,000 people served here. The van will also transport our patients to the specialties in Curitiba, Campo Largo and the entire region that meets these demands,” he explained.

Sergio stressed that travel for consultations, examinations and medical procedures takes place daily.

“It will bring this benefit to the Caetano Mendes region and the entire community, with mais conforto,” he said.

Health plans new vehicles for the fleet

In addition to the four vehicles delivered on Wednesday, the Municipal Secretariat of Health expects new acquisitions to expand and renew the fleet.

Three Spin vehicles, a Strada, a bus and other vehicles are planned to be incorporated into the structure used in the transport and care of patients.

During the delivery, Mayor Rildo Leonardi stated that the renovation seeks to increase the comfort and safety of residents who need to travel great distances to perform health treatments and procedures.

“It is very important to be bringing two new vehicles to each district today. We know that when people move to Curitiba, Campo Largo and so many other regions of the Paraná, they need a little more comfort. These vehicles come to bring this so that they can go to their appointments, exams and surgeries in a better way,” he said.

The mayor also highlighted the conditions encountered by the teams during their travels in rural areas.

“Rural roads are dangerous and we want safety for those who go for consultation, safety for our drivers, nurses and shift workers, so that we can offer more quality of life for the people of Tibagi,” he said.

According to Rildo, the investments are part of the expansion of the municipal health structure.

“Health has been a priority in our management from 2017 to 2020. And it is the highest priority in our management that began in 2025 and will end in 2028,” he said.

The delivery is part of the process of renewal of the Secretariat of Health’s fleet and seeks to expand transport conditions and access to health services for district residents.
