Tibagi expands health drives and reduces wait times for specialized consultations

The City of Tibagi, in partnership with the Intermunicipal Health Consortium of Campos Gerais (CimSaúde), has been expanding the realization of health mutirões in Tibagi to reduce the waiting for specialized consultations. In the last week alone, more than 60 patients received care in the areas of gynecology and child neurology.

The strategy seeks to attend patients who were waiting in line and, at the same time, facilitate access to specialized services without the need to travel to other municipalities.

Mutiny helps reduce repressed demand

According to the municipal secretary of Health, Sérgio Aldo da Silva, the realization of the mutirões has been an important tool to accelerate care.

“Specialty mutants are being an important strategy to help reduce repressed demand and, most importantly, to give a faster response to the population of Tibagi that is waiting for consultations and expert care,” he says.

The secretary also points out that the partnership with CimSaúde allows the concentration of different specialties within the municipality itself.

With this, elderly patients, people with mobility difficulties and families who would have spent on transport to other cities have greater ease to access the services.

Care closer to patients

For the director of CimSaúde, Pâmella Costa, the decentralization of services benefits the municipalities participating in the consortium.

“In this way, we optimize resources, reduce displacement and speed up services in the municipalities themselves, according to budget availability,” he explains.

In addition to the consultations performed during the mutirões, the work involves steps before and after the care.

The Community Health Manager of Tibagi, Lorena Alberti, explains that the teams do the organization of the queues, the regulation of the patients, the identification of the demands and the follow up of the referrals.

“The mutant is not just making the consultation. There is a whole work of organization of the queues, regulation, identification of the demands and follow-up of the referrals, so that the user has continuity in the care”, he points out.

New mutants can be expanded

The municipal administration intends to maintain the partnership and monitor which specialties have the greatest demand and waiting time.

According to Sérgio Aldo da Silva, this evaluation will allow to define the next attendances and improve the strategy.

“By maintaining this partnership and continuously evaluating the needs of the municipality, we can expand and improve the mutirões, prioritizing the specialties with greater demand and longer waiting time,” says the secretary.

The expectation is that new services will contribute to continue to reduce the queues and bring the specialized services closer to the population of Tibagi.
