Truck carrying eggs overturned on BR-376 in Tibagi, leaving a seriously injured person and causing a three-hour closure and 5 km traffic jam
A truck loaded with eggs crashed on BR-376 at Tibagi on Campos Gerais on Sunday afternoon (25). The accident occurred around 12:40 p.m. on the 434 kilometer highway, and left one person seriously injured. The landing caused the total interdiction of the track in the direction of Curitiba for approximately three hours, in addition to generating a congestion of about five kilometers.
According to the information of the occurrence, the cargo vehicle, with plates from Maringá (PR), was carrying chicken eggs destined for consumption. With the lapping, the truck was immobilized on the two treads in the direction of Curitiba.
Part of the cargo spread over the track, also reaching one of the tracks in the direction of Londrina. In addition to the broken eggs, there was oil spill on the asphalt, increasing the risks for the drivers who traveled along the stretch.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was referred to the UPA
The accident left one person with serious injuries. The victim received assistance from the rescue teams of the dealership responsible for the stretch and was referred to the Unit of Pronto Atendimento (UPA) Santa Paula, in Ponta Grossa.
So far, no additional information has been released about the identity of the victim or his health status after referral to the hospital unit.
BR-376 was banned for three hours
The toppling of the truck caused significant disturbances for those who followed the BR-376 towards Curitiba.
The large amount of eggs scattered on the highway, added to the spilled oil, compromised the safety conditions of the track. For this reason, it was necessary to ban the sense Curitiba for approximately three hours.
During the blockade, the congestion reached about five kilometers, affecting the flow of vehicles on one of the main highways that cut through the Campos Gerais region.
The cargo also partially reached the Londrina direction, requiring attention from the drivers passing through the place.
