Truck overturns on Paraná highway, killing one and injuring another

A rollover on PR-487 left a 47-year-old man dead and another 54-year-old injured on Thursday morning in Manoel Ribas, on Paraná. The accident occurred around 11:40 am, at km 274.8 of the highway, in the stretch that connects the municipality to Nova Tebas. The incident mobilized emergency care teams and bodies responsible for the expertise.
According to information released by the State Road Police (PRE), the vehicle involved was a Mercedes-Benz 1313 truck, with plates from Toledo, a municipality located in the West region of the Paraná.
The truck followed the PR-487, in the direction Manoel Ribas to Nova Tebas, when it suffered a rollover. After the accident, the vehicle remained off the runway, presenting material damage.
The 47-year-old passenger could not resist the injuries and died at the scene. The identity of the victim was not disclosed in the police report.
Driver was taken to hospital
The driver of the truck, 54 years old, suffered injuries considered moderate as a result of the overturning on PR-487.
A team from the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) was called in to provide relief to the driver. After the first visits, he was referred to Hospital Bom Jesus, in the municipality of Ivaiporã.
Until the disclosure by the police, there were no additional details about the driver’s health status after entering the hospital unit.
Scientific Police and IML attended the occurrence
Due to the death of the passenger, the accident site was isolated for the necessary procedures.
Teams of the Scientific Police and the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Ivaiporã attended the section of the PR-487 to carry out the work related to the occurrence and death of the victim.
The service also counted on the action of the State Road Police, through the Cape Lourenço Road Station, linked to the 5th Company of the Road Police Battalion (BPRv).
The circumstances of the accident will be determined.
According to the police report, the overturning occurred at km 274.8, during the displacement of the truck towards Nova Tebas.
