Truck Spotted Going the Wrong Way on BR-277 Startles Drivers; Watch the Video
Large Vehicle Spotted Traveling Against the Traffic Direction on the Highway This Morning (23). PRF Conducted Searches but Did Not Find the Truck
A truck was caught driving against BR-277, in Paranaguá, on the coast of Paraná, on the morning of Friday (23). The situation, recorded on video by a driver passing by, drew attention to the risk of a frontal collision and repercuted on social networks.

The flagrant incident occurred near kilometer 7 of the highway, about 1.5 kilometers from the access to Pontal do Paraná and Praia de Este. In the images, it is possible to observe the dark-colored truck following in the direction opposite to the flow of vehicles, while other drivers need to redouble their attention to avoid accidents.
Video shows truck in reverse and risk of accident
During the approximately 30 seconds of recording, it is possible to notice the movement of cars, motorcycles and other trucks that traveled regularly on the highway. Some drivers had to stay on a single lane or make deviations to avoid a possible collision with the vehicle that followed in the opposite direction.

The driver who recorded the situation showed surprise when he noticed the dangerous maneuver. "Only in Paranaguá do you see these things, crazy. The guy on the other hand! My God, did he realize that he was on the wrong side?" he asked.
The images drew attention to the danger of the situation, especially by involving a large vehicle on a highway with intense movement.
PRF was triggered but couldn't find the truck
According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the corporation received a complaint about the truck trafficking on its back at around 7 a.m. on Friday (23). After the call, a team was moved to the indicated stretch to try to locate the vehicle and avoid possible accidents.
Despite searches, the truck was not found by federal road police. According to the information available, there was no record of accidents related to the situation.
Driving in the wrong way is a very serious offense
In accordance with the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), driving in the opposite direction on roads with a single direction of circulation is a very serious infraction, provided for in article 186, paragraph II, subject to a fine of R$ 293.47 and seven points in the National License (CNH).
Depending on the circumstances, the conduct may also result in other legal consequences. PRF directs drivers who witness risky situations on federal highways to call the corporation on the 191 phone. To date, there is no information about the identity of the driver or the reason that led the truck to travel in the opposite direction of the BR-277.
