Two cars collide and one of them rolls onto the road in the center of Ponta Grossa

A collision at the Ponta Grossa Center involving two cars mobilized a team from Siate on Wednesday night. The accident occurred at the intersection of Dr. Paula Xavier and Dr. Colares streets. Four people were treated on the spot, but none needed to be taken to the hospital.

According to the information obtained on the spot, the crash involved a red Renault Sandero and a silver Renault Kwid. The vehicles were on different tracks when they collided at the intersection in a central area of the city.

The Sandero driver reported that he was driving along Dr. Paula Xavier Street and that the traffic light was green for him at the time he crossed the intersection.

The driver of the Renault Kwid, who descended the Rua Dr. Colares, presented a different version. According to her, a witness witnessed the situation and could confirm that the signal was also green for her passage.

Given the versions presented by those involved, it was not yet possible to determine the exact circumstances that caused the accident.

Vehicle rolled on the track after impact

With the force of the collision, the Renault Kwid came to run on the track and stopped in the opposite direction to the flow of vehicles from Rua Dr. Colares.

The impact also triggered the airbags of the car, which was carrying two women at the time of the accident.

A team of the Integrated Emergency Trauma Service (Siate), of the Fire Department, was called on to assess the situation of the occupants of the vehicles.

The two women who were in the Kwid received assistance from the first responders, but refused hospital referral, formalizing the decision on the spot.

In Renault Sandero was a couple. The two occupants also went through the evaluation of the care teams and signed the refusal to refer to the hospital.

Transit records occurrence on site

A Transit team was at the intersection of Dr. Paula Xavier and Dr. Colares streets to record the occurrence and prepare the accident report.

Despite the impact between the vehicles and the actuation of the airbags, there was no need for hospital transportation of the four occupants involved.

The collision at the Ponta Grossa Center drew attention to the dynamics of the crash, especially the fact that the Kwid rotated on the track after the crash.

The circumstances of the collision, including the discrepancy between drivers’ reports of traffic lights, should be clarified in accordance with the records and any witness information.

There is no official confirmation as to which of the drivers had the preference to pass at the time of the accident.
