UEPG moves night classes to remote due to storm risk on this Friday (11)

The Ponta Grossa State University (UEPG) evening classes will be held remotely on Friday (11) in Ponta Grossa, due to Defesa Civil’s warning for critical weather conditions and possibility of storms. The change applies to the in-person activities planned for the night period.

The UEPG informed the change through the Graduation Pro-Rectorate and the People Management Pro-Rectorate. The orientation is directed to students and servers of the institution.

According to the statement, the decision was made due to the forecast of critical weather and storm in the region. With this, the face-to-face academic activities of the night period move, exceptionally this Friday, to the remote modality.

Alert causes change in UEPG activities

The measure seeks to reduce the displacement of students, teachers and other servers during the period of greatest risk indicated by weather alerts.

With the change, those who would have UEPG night classes in person on Friday should follow the guidelines of their teachers, courses and departments on the realization of activities in a remote environment.

The university did not report, in the released statement, changes for the other periods of the day. Therefore, the determination announced specifically by the institution involves the face-to-face classes scheduled for the evening period of this Friday.

Defesa Civil alert for adverse conditions

The release of UEPG occurs because of the warning issued by Defesa Civil in the face of the possibility of severe weather conditions in the region of Ponta Grossa.

In stormy situations, the guidance is that the population follow the official statements and avoid unnecessary displacement during the moments of greatest intensity of the phenomenon.

Students and servers should also be aware of the official channels of the State University of Ponta Grossa for any new guidelines or changes related to the functioning of the institution.
