UTFPR-PG hosts a conversation circle on accessible science and fighting misinformation
Conversation circle at UTFPR-PG discusses accessible science, popular communication and fighting misinformation. Free event will have 40 spots.

The extension project Viver+Bio, of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), Campus Ponta Grossa, holds on November 5, 2026, a conversation wheel in UTFPR-PG aimed at scientific dissemination, popular communication and combating disinformation.
With the theme “Accessible Science and Information Integrity: How Popular Communication Transforms Knowledge into Citizenship”, the meeting will be held from 9 am, in Block E of the university, in the Training Room of the Directorate of Business and Community Relations (Direc).
The activity is part of the national programming of the 4th Brazilian Week of Media Education, promoted by the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom/PR).
Scientific communication and combating disinformation
During the round of discussion, participants will discuss strategies to make academic language simpler and more accessible to the population, bringing scientific production closer to the daily life of the community.
Another planned point is the debate on ways to democratise access to scientific knowledge and combat the circulation of false information, especially related to environmental issues.
The proposal of Viver+Bio is to stimulate reflection on how communication can transform scientific content, often technical, into understandable and useful information for different audiences.
The event is aimed at students, teachers, researchers, extensionists and members of the community in general.
Free event will be certified
Participation is free and places are limited to 40 people. Participants will also be entitled to a certificate.
