"Van Gogh & Impressionistas" gain life in immersive exhibition in Ponta Grossa; find out everything about the exhibition

The acclaimed exhibition “Van Gogh & Impressionists” opens on Friday (25) at the new Plaza Campos Gerais Mall Convention Center. The project installed on the ground by Lightland Produções, promises to transport the spectator inside the brushstrokes of one of the greatest geniuses of world painting.

The attraction has artistic installations that depict works and biography of the painter, souvenir shop, in addition to the great immersive atelier with 360o high definition projections on walls and on the floor.

Sensory architecture and gradual immersion

With a planned scenography, the experience goes far beyond contemplating art in frames. The exhibition path was designed to involve the visitor in a progressive way: it begins in an intimate environment, which functions as an introduction portal to the artist’s universe, evolves through a scenographic path that refers to a museological maze and ends in the 360-degree superprojection workshop.

According to Tereza Telles, Chief Operating Officer of Lightland Productions, the choice of Ponta Grossa reflects the cultural potential of the region and the technical rigor required by the project:

"We have received a grateful invitation from Tacla, with whom we have already worked in other cities, to bring here to the Plaza Campos Gerais the exhibition 'Van Gogh & Impressionists'. From this invitation and our intention – given that the mapping shows that the region is very open for this type of experience – two perfect factors were added to bring us here.”

The director also emphasizes the importance of the space available to ensure the effectiveness of the show:

"We don't give up high-right to build a studio of super projections like the one we have here, truly immersive. The immersive exhibitions in Brazil have this characteristic of having a scenographic path that leads the visitor to the apex, where he actually feels immersed within the work. The best result of an immersive exhibition is undoubtedly to democratize the art, making both the enthusiast and the occasional visitor leave here with the keen spirit to explore the genius of the artist."

The role of commercial spaces in culture

For Frederico Galvão, superintendent of the Plaza Shopping Center Campos Gerais, the initiative crowns the inauguration of the new event space of the enterprise with a memorable milestone.

“The enterprise today, when we talk about a shopping center, is no longer limited to the shopping space. We are talking about a space that touches people, that talks about culture, care, leisure, gastronomy. It's fully integrated into all of this. At the same time, it is a system where we can bring together the whole family, from the child to the elderly. The idea of an event of this magnitude is to talk to all generations, and that is the main kernel.”

The Superintendent also highlights the success of the technical partnership with Lightland and foreshadows a promising future for the cultural agenda of the mall:

"The integration with the Lightland team was fantastic. They already have a whole technology and experience in this type of event, and we wanted to inaugurate our space with an event of this magnitude. To the future, no doubt, wait: there will be new projects focused on culture, entertainment and immersive experiences. The format is not static; we are dealing with a painter who was born in past centuries but who remains extremely current, and the innovative way of approaching this content is the great differentiator."

A journey through the masters of Impressionism

In addition to Vincent Van Gogh’s famous creations — such as sunflowers, starry skies and self-portraits reinterpreted with high-definition videography — the exhibition pays tribute to other great names of the Impressionist and post-Impressionist movement, such as Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Claude Monet.

The immersive show has already moved more than 1 million people in Brazil. The project uses a superprocessing system and multiple superprojectors to present the works in rereadings that mix effects and movements from state-of-the-art videographing resources. In addition, the exhibition has a special soundtrack based on great classics of universal music, which seeks to privilege engagement and emotion.
