Victim of serious truck accident on BR-277 in Palmeira identified

Ivonei Toebe, 42, was identified as the driver who died in a serious accident involving two wagons on the BR-277 in Palmeira, in the Campos Gerais do Paraná. The incident was recorded on the afternoon of Monday (19), around 14:50, at kilometer 198 of the highway, in the town of Queimadas.

Ivonei was an entrepreneur and worked as a truck driver. At the time of the accident, he was returning to the municipality of Boa Ventura de São Roque, after completing a cargo delivery in Paranaguá, on the Parana coast. The vehicle he drove was empty during the return journey.

The identification of the victim brought new details about the occurrence, which mobilized emergency teams and caused the trucker's death.

Preliminary information indicates that the two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred.

One of the wagons had departed from Assis Chateaubriand, in the west of the Paraná, and was bound for the city of South San Francisco, in Santa Catarina. The other truck, driven by Ivonei, was heading towards Boa Ventura de São Roque.

The initial suspicion is that one of the vehicles has crossed the divide between the lanes and entered the lane intended for contrary traffic, causing the collision. However, there is still no confirmation as to what would have led to the possible invasion of the track.
