Walk 'Juntos Pela Vida' mobilizes Castro in September Yellow campaign
September Yellow in Castro had a walk through the central streets on Friday (25), with awareness actions on mental health
The morning of Friday (25) was marked by a mobilization in defense of life and mental health care in Castro. The Municipal Health Secretariat and the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) promoted the first edition of the Walk “Together for Life”, within the program of Yellow September 2026.
With yellow umbrellas, participants walked the streets of the central region of the municipality, drawing attention to the importance of suicide prevention, reception and the search for help in moments of emotional suffering.
The Fanfare of the Vespasian State College Carneiro de Mello also participated in the walk, accompanying the route and contributing to the mobilization.
According to the municipal secretary of Health, Matilvani Moreira, the proposal is to increase the awareness of the population on the subject.
“The ‘Walk Together for Life’ aims to promote the enhancement of life, mental health care, prevention and awareness of the population about the campaign,” he said.
Activities in Praça João Gualberto
After the route through the central streets, the programming continued in João Gualberto Square, where activities of stretching, relaxation, integration and awareness were carried out.
The space received special decoration with yellow bladders and posters with motivational messages, reinforcing the proposal of the campaign to encourage dialogue and attention to mental health.
CAPS will have special programming
The activities of the Yellow September continue in Castro. On the next day 30, CAPS will carry out a special programming open to the community.
During the day, participants will be able to know the structure of the unit, the services available, the forms of care and the functioning of the mental health care network of the municipality.
At 3 p.m., the lecture “Together for Life”, given by Dr. Henrique Orlovski Dziedicz, will be held. The theme of the meeting will be “Suicide and ways of helping: how to welcome, listen and seek support”.
Participation will be free and open to the public.
In addition to the actions promoted by the CAPS, the municipal health units also carry out activities related to the Yellow September. Among them are the UBSs of Vila Rio Branco and Socavão, which carry out pamphlets and awareness-raising initiatives with residents.
