Wednesday starts with sun, but Inmet issues storm warning for Ponta Grossa and region

On Wednesday (4), the heat gains strength in the Paraná, with temperatures above 30°C in most of the state, except in areas near the Santa Catarina currency. Throughout the day, Simepar highlights that a low pressure system intensifies at the height of the Southern Region and organizes a cold front, favoring the occurrence of severe storms, with expressive rain, hail, atmospheric discharges and strong wind gusts. The events should develop from the afternoon, and advance in several regions of Paraná.

On the other hand, the National Meteorological Institute (Inmet) issued storm warning with degree of severity for danger by the end of Wednesday throughout the Paraná. The alert predicts rain between 30 and 60 mm/h or 50 and 100 mm/day, intense winds (60 to 100 km/h) and hailfall. There is a risk of power cuts, plantation damage, tree falls and flooding.

In Ponta Grossa, the minimum temperature was pleasant in the morning, marking 19°C. The temperature rises and reaches 25°C. The forecast indicates 5 millimeters of rain. On Thursday, the cumulative rainfall is 27 millimeters.

In the city of Telêmaco Borba, temperatures are between 17°C and 26°C. It can rain up to 3 mm. And in the municipality of Piraí do Sul, the day began with the temperature of 18°C. The maximum expected is 25°C.

On Thursday (5), the risk of storms persists in the Paraná, especially during the early morning. "This situation stems from the gradual advancement of a cold front at the height of the South and Southeast of the country. From the afternoon the events become softer, and occur preferentially in the East and in the North strip. The temperatures remain higher between the Southwest, West and Northwest Paraná, with values slightly below 30 ° C ", reports Simepar.
