Woman dies after being hit by bus while cycling in Carambeí

A bus and bicycle accident in Carambeí ended with the death of a 59-year-old woman on Saturday morning. The victim was riding a bicycle along the Avenida das Flores cycle lane in the AFCB neighborhood when she was hit by a bus that was making a conversion to access Rua das Azaleias.

According to the information provided by the service teams, the impact caused serious injuries to the cyclist. The woman was found inside the ambulance service area, where she received first aid from emergency teams.

The incident mobilized teams of the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU), Military Police, traffic agents and the Defesa Civil, through the Community Fire Department of Carambeí.

The Bravo 11 team was the first to arrive at the scene and carried out the initial care of the victim, who presented a serious condition. Afterwards, the SAMU Alpha 01 ambulance also appeared for medical support.

During the care, the doctor in charge confirmed the evolution of the frame to code 4, a classification used by emergency teams to indicate a victim in death. The death was found inside the ambulance.

After the death was confirmed, the body was referred to the Carambeí Health Center until the necessary procedures were carried out by the competent authorities.

The bus involved in the accident remained at the scene and was available to the teams responsible for the investigation of the occurrence. The area was preserved for the forensic work.

The Military Police, traffic agents and Defesa Civil accompanied the service and assisted in the organization of the site. The Scientific Police and the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) have been activated for the procedures related to the removal and official identification of the victim.

The circumstances that led to the crash will still be investigated by the authorities responsible.
