Woman flees threats and seeks police help in Palmeira
A woman went to the police station to seek help after reporting threats of death and insults from her partner during a car ride.
A man was arrested in flagrante on suspicion of domestic violence in Palmeira, municipality of Campos Gerais, on the afternoon of Friday (6). The arrest was carried out by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR), after the partner of the suspect sought the 40th Regional Police Station to report death threats and offenses suffered during a car trip.
A woman went to the police station to ask for help.
According to the information released by the Civil Police, the police team was in the headquarters of the police station when the woman arrived at the scene requesting help.
The victim reported that she was in a vehicle with her companion when he began making death threats and directing offenses against her. Faced with the situation, the woman decided to interrupt the movement and seek police attention.
Upon arriving at the unit, she told the officers what had happened. The police carried out the intervention and made the arrest in flagrante of the suspect.
The incident was recorded in the context of domestic and family violence against women, with suspicions of threatening and insulting crimes.
The victim has requested protective measures.
After attending the police station, the woman expressed an interest in requesting emergency protective measures.
According to PCPR, the application was submitted to the Judiciary, which is responsible for analyzing the need and application of the measures provided for in the legislation.
Protective measures may establish restrictions on the investigated, such as a prohibition on approaching or contact with the victim, according to the judicial assessment of each case.
The request is part of the legal mechanisms to protect women who face domestic violence situations.
Suspect was forwarded to Ponta Grossa
After the arrest in flagrante, the man was referred to a prison unit in Ponta Grossa, the main city of the Campos Gerais.
According to the information passed on by the Civil Police, it remains at the disposal of the competent authorities.
