A 38-year-old man shot dead in Palmeira; Civil Police investigate

The Civil Police of the Paraná (PCPR) investigates a murder in Palmeira, in the Campos Gerais, registered in the early hours of Saturday (10). The victim, identified as Edson Roberto Guimarães, 38, was referred to the Santa Casa Hospital in Palmeira, but did not resist.

According to information released by the 40th Regional Police Station of Palmeira, Edson was rescued after being shot with a firearm. He had a wound on the left side of his chest.

The victim arrived at the Pronto Atendimento da Santa Casa in cardiorespiratory arrest. The medical team performed the care and support procedures, but Edson Roberto Guimarães did not resist the injuries and had the death confirmed in the hospital unit.

After the death, the body was referred to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML), where it will undergo a necropsy. The procedure should contribute to investigative work and to the clarification of the circumstances of death.

Police initiate diligence during the early morning hours.

According to the Civil Police, the teams of the 40th Regional Police Station immediately began the proceedings related to the murder in Palmeira. The objective is to identify the person responsible for the shooting and clarify the dynamics of the crime.

The Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) also participates in the work and assists in the diligences carried out by the security forces.

According to the PCPR, the research is already showing progress. However, information about suspects, possible motives or specific circumstances of the murder has not been disclosed so far.

The decision to preserve details occurs because the case remains under investigation and early disclosure of certain information could jeopardize police work.

Investigation seeks to clarify circumstances of crime

The Civil Police said the work began in the early hours of the morning, shortly after the corporation became aware of the occurrence. The proceedings seek to gather information and elements that can clarify how the crime happened and point to the perpetrator of the murder.

The institution also highlighted the joint action with the Military Police during the first procedures related to the case.

So far, the Civil Police have not officially informed where the shooting took place nor have they disclosed details about the possible motivation for the crime.

The investigation of the murder in Palmeira continues under the responsibility of the 40th Regional Police Station. According to PCPR, new information may be disclosed as the investigation progresses, provided it does not prejudice the due diligence.
