After decisive goal, Caio Dantas targets Ceará and asks for packed GK

The striker Caio Dantas lives a good time in Operário Ferroviário and arrives packed for the confrontation against Ceará, on Saturday (26), for the Brazilian Championship Series B. Author of one of the goals in the last match of the Phantom, against Criciúma, the player highlighted the happiness of contributing to the team and reinforced the importance of maintaining the good moment in the final straight of the competition.

During a press conference on Friday (25), Caio spoke about the feeling of scoring just against Criciúma, a club that he has already gone through.

“I am very happy to have helped the Worker to emerge victorious from there. The feeling is of a lot of happiness in every goal I score with this shirt. Now it is to continue the work. We have nine decisions so that we can achieve our goal,” he said.

Worker recovers after travel

The match against Criciúma required a different logistics from the alvinegro cast. After performing on Tuesday night, the group returned during the early hours and had less time to prepare before the match against Ceará.

According to Caio, the change mainly affected the schedule of the trip, but should not compromise the performance of the team.

“I think it got a little more in the way of the logistics and the programming that the club had done. Here the club gives total conditions for us to recover well and be prepared for the next game. Of course it takes a day off, but I believe that this will not be a problem,” he said.

High pressure gains importance in the worker

Caio Dantas also commented on one of the characteristics worked by the technician Luizinho Lopes: the pressure on the ball output of the opponents.

For the striker, the participation of the offensive players in the scoring has helped the Phantom to regain possession closer to the opponent's goal.

“Luizinho has been working well on this because everyone needs to help score, just as everyone helps to attack. This helps a lot to recover the ball already on the offensive field and have the chance to finish or build a dangerous play,” he explained.

The player also stressed that the work is reinforced through videos and training during the preparation.

Caio asks for strength from the crowd against Ceará

Even recognizing the quality of Ceará, Caio believes that the Worker needs to take advantage of the home factor to seek another victory in Serie B.

“Ceará is a very qualified team. We did very well in the game there. Now we have to take advantage of our command of the field, call the cheering crowd close and get them to support us all the time. We need to take advantage of the home factor to suffocate their team and try to get away with victory,” he said.

The attacker also made a direct call to the fans to attend the Estádio Germano Krüger.

“The crowd is very important to us. There is no better scenario so that they can believe in the work that has been done. That they can crowd the Germano to support us and so that we can be victorious,” he said.

Distractions do not concern the attacker.

For the confrontation, the Worker will have casualties in the defensive sector, Cuenú and Joseph. Asked about the changes, Caio said he trusted the cast’s options.

“The people in the position have been training a lot for this. The team will choose the best option so that the team does not feel so much. We have to give confidence to those who enter and so that they can do their best,” he said.

Caio Dantas won more space in the last games after a period with less time. The player admitted that the wait was not easy, but said he respected the decisions of the technical committee.

“It’s a bit difficult. You are outside wanting to come in and help, but I respect Luizinho's decisions very much. The team was fit, we have great players. It was to wait for the opportunity and work hard to correspond when I was on the field,” he said.

The attacker also appreciated the reaction of the Worker after a sequence of negative results at the beginning of the second round.

“We did not doubt the work that was being done. The team embraced the idea of Luisinho and did not stop believing. It is normal to have oscillations. We knew this phase would pass and we hope to continue in this good moment until the end of the championship.”

With the Worker again fighting in the first positions of the Serie B, Caio reinforced that the balance of the competition requires attention until the final rounds.

“The Serie B is a very difficult and very level championship. It's hard to get up there and harder to keep up. We need to keep believing in the process and try to get to that final straight as high as possible.”
