Anvisa bans counterfeit batches of intimate gel and antiperspirant
Measures target one batch of Hidrafemme and two of Perspirex Strong; products used packaging and manufacturer data to simulate regular origin
The National Agency of Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa) banned the marketing of a counterfeit batch of Hidrafemme, intravaginal moisturizing gel, and ordered the seizure of two batches of Perspirex Strong, axillary antiperspirant. The measures were published in the Official Journal of the Union on Friday (2).
The determinations also prevent the distribution, manufacture, importation, advertising and use of the identified lots. In the case of the Hydrafemme, the agency also ordered the collection of the units.
Fake Intimate Gel Was Sold on the Internet
The Hydrafemme restriction covers the lot identified on the packaging as “lot 2 2511006”. The irregularity was pointed out by Helianto Farmacêutica Ltda., the company responsible for the registration of the product, after identifying units for sale on the Shopee platform with different characteristics from the originals.
According to the resolution, the batch number found on the packaging was not marketed in Brazil. The coding also did not correspond to the standard used in the Hydrafemme batches.
Other details reinforced the identification of the counterfeit. The box was smaller than the original packaging, while the applicators presented differences and did not fit inside it. On the other hand, the label of the screw consisted of a printed and glued paper.
Given these characteristics, Anvisa considered that the units were counterfeit and determined the restrictions.
Antiperspirant used data from another company
The second measure involves lots 614323 and 614326 of Perspirex Strong Axillary Antiperspirant. According to the resolution, the units were manufactured by an unknown company, which used the cadastral data of Megalabs Farmacêutica S.A. before Anvisa in the labeling.
Megalabs said it was unaware of the manufacturing of the identified products. Therefore, the agency determined the seizure of the two lots and prohibited the activities related to their marketing and use.
