APLA participates in meeting on memory and history in Telêmaco Borba

The Ponta-Grossense Academy of Letters and Arts (APLA) in Telêmaco Borba participated, last Saturday (12), in a cultural meeting promoted by the Chronos Group, at UNIFATEB – Telêmaco Borba University Center. Academics from Ponta Grossa participated in activities involving literature, history, poetry and music, as well as a talk wheel about the book Memories of the Formation of a People – from the New City to Telêmaco Borba.

Produced by historians of the Chronos Group, the work recovers aspects related to the emergence and development of the old New City until the emancipation and formation of the municipality of Telêmaco Borba.

The work brings together historical facts and trajectories of residents who participated in the construction of the city. According to teacher and author Edna Beltrão, the proposal also seeks to highlight the participation of “visible or invisible” residents in this process.

Literature and culture of Campos Gerais

During the meeting, the members of the Ponta-Grossense Academy of Letters and Arts presented works related to literature, popular culture and regional history.

The president of APLA, Dione Navarro, presented part of her literary production, including works related to Corina Portugal, popular culture and inclusive children’s literature.

The academic Silvestre Alves approached the tropeirismo through poetry, works and songs. Rosicler Antoniácomi presented his interpretation of the book Tale on Herba Mate, bringing references to local customs and traditional narratives.

Renata Régis Florisbelo participated with a poetic performance. The actor, poet, composer and troubadour Alisson Louzada proclaimed the poems My Best Friend and Bicho of Paraná.

Louzada also produced trovas in honor of Telêmaco Borba, citing elements linked to the history and identity of the municipality, including indigenous peoples, the tropeirismo, the Rio Tibagi and the activity of pulp.

Members of APLA who are also part of the Brazilian Union of Troubadours (UBT) – Section Ponta Grossa also participated in a trova declamation, under the presidency of Renata Régis Florisbelo.

Graciele's Memory

Born in Telêmaco Borba and based in Ponta Grossa, the academic Kelly Cristina Bida da Costa presented a reflection on the presence of martyrs in the historical and cultural memory of societies.

During her participation, Kelly recalled the story of Graciele dos Santos Pereira, a 10-year-old girl who died in 1991, and advocated that her trajectory also remain among the historical records of the city.

The academic related the preservation of the memory of children victims of violence to the construction of a social conscience aimed at the protection of children and the confrontation of situations of abandonment, abuse and other violations.

“Graciele lives in our memory and must continue to live,” Kelly said at the end of his presentation.

The book was a topic of conversation

The programme also featured a roundtable on Memories of the Formation of a People – from the New City to Telêmaco Borba. The activity allowed the exchange of experiences between members of the Chronos Group, APLA academics and other participants.

The event took place at UNIFATEB – University Center of Telêmaco Borba. The institution has Paula Pontara at the forefront and supports initiatives related to education, culture and the preservation of local memory.

The approach between UNIFATEB, the Chronos Group and APLA brought together different forms of historical preservation, with research, literary production and artistic manifestations.

During the passage through Telêmaco Borba, the group of Ponta Grossa was also welcomed at a lunch at the Harmonia Club by businessman Everton Bida.
