BC: R$ 5.8 billion forgotten can be reclaimed
The Central Bank informed that R$ 5.79 billion in forgotten funds can still be reclaimed by nearly 24 million individuals and companies. The amount refers to August and can be checked on the website valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br.

The Banco Central (BC) updated the data and reported on Tuesday (13) that there are still R $ 5.79 billion in "forgotten resources" by customers in financial institutions. The balance sheet considers amounts accounted for until August of this year. Nearly 24 million people, both natural and legal, are entitled to these resources.
The amount has already been higher. In March, according to Banco Central, there were R$ 10.6 billion in forgotten amounts in financial institutions. Part of the amount was transferred to a public fund to enable Desenrola 2.0. In May, the value had already fallen to R$ 6.2 billion.
Fall in the available value
At the beginning of May, the government announced the use of the resources forgotten by workers in banks to enable discounts on Desenrola 2.0 – a new debt renegotiation program. At the end of May, part of the money, about R$ 5.7 billion, was sent to a public fund, the Operations Guarantee Fund (FGO), to offer guarantees to financial institutions, that is, part of the money of this fund will cover any default of creditors.
As a result, the amount available for direct rescue by citizens has dropped significantly. Still, the current R$ 5.79 billion represent a significant amount that can be recovered by those who have the right.
Use of resources under analysis
As reported by the G1 in June, the case came under the purview of the Court of Auditors of the Union (TCU). Court technicians assess the use of resources for federal programs outside the public budget. By not going through the budget of the Union, the resources are not within the limits of expenditure that have to be obeyed. By the rules, spending cannot grow more than 2.5% per year (above inflation).
If it were formally included in the budget, and consequently in the spending limit, the government would have to block equal amount in other free (discretionary) expenses, increasing the difficulties in an election year. The situation generates debate on the transparency and legality of the operation.
How to consult and redeem
The only website on which it is possible to make the consultation and know how to request the return of the values for legal or natural persons, including deceased, is https://valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br. The BC system allows you to see if individuals (including deceased) and companies have left values behind in banks, consortia or other institutions.
🔑Via Banco Central system, the values will only be released for those who provide a PIX key for the return. 📞If you do not have a registered key, you must contact the institution to combine the form of receipt. Another option is to create a key and return to the system to make the request.
Values of deceased persons
💰In the case of receivables from deceased persons, you must be an heir, testamentary, inventory maker or legal representative to consult them. It is also necessary to fill out a liability term. After the consultation, it is necessary to contact the institutions in which there are values to be received and verify the procedures.
The process is free and can be done entirely through the internet. The recommendation of the Banco Central is that those interested access the official website and follow the guidelines so as not to fall into scams.
