Worker x CRB finished with an undeniable scoreboard victory: 3 to 0 for the Ghost, on Wednesday night (9), in Ponta Grossa. But those who look only at the result can imagine a game completely different from what we saw, especially during much of the first half.

And perhaps therein lies one of the great virtues of this victory.

The worker did not have to play well during the 90 minutes to win. He needed to survive when he was in bad shape, to enjoy the individualities he possessed and then to know how to control his opponent.

It was a victory built first on talent. Then in the organization.

CRB started better, even with ten

The first few minutes were of concern.

The CRB entered by pressing, working well in the middle and managing to find spaces in front of a slow Worker at the exit of the ball. Pedro Castro commanded the creation, while the Alagoan attack constantly gave work to the Alvinegra defense.

In the 10 minutes, however, one of the pitches took place that completely changed the scenario of the match.

After the Worker disarmed a dangerous attack, the ball was thrown to Ângel Torres. The forward was advancing towards the goal when he was knocked down by Lucas Lovat. Referee Arthur Gomes Rabelo understood that the CRB player was the last defender and immediately showed the red card.

Then came a long complaint from the visitors.

The question was about the presence of Ângel Torres in the field. Shortly before, he had left the lawn to regularize the uniform, as he was using half-colored different from the other players of the Worker.

After remaining outside and being authorized by the arbitration to return, Torres returned normally to the game. Therefore, when he received the ball in the move that ended in the expulsion, he was legally on the field.

CRB protested. The arbitration upheld the decision.

But something curious happened: with ten players, CRB continued to be better.

For several minutes, no one would say that it was the Worker who had numerical superiority. The Phantom missed passes, had difficulty getting out of the defensive field and practically depended on his defense to prevent the Alagoan pressure from turning into a goal.

It was then that, at the 39th minute, appeared what changed balanced matches or even bad matches: individuality.

And what a kick!

A bomb, with virtually no chance of reaction to Vitor Caetano.

A bunch of those who don't show up every week. Maybe not every month.

When it seemed that the first half would end with minimal advantage, the Phantom found another decisive individual play.

The scoreboard said that the Worker had a wide advantage. The football presented up to that moment said something else.

But football is that too.

And in that first time, when the collective was not yet functioning, the players of the Worker resolved individually.

If the first half left concern, the break brought a good response from the bank.

Luizinho Lopes, often questioned by the delay in making changes, did not wait.

With a player already yellowing and encountering difficulties from the right-hander, the coach reinforced the scoring with Miranda. In the attack, Caio Dantas entered Mingotti's place.

The result came quickly.

The worker of the second half was completely different.

More organized, quieter to get out of the back, better matching the passes and finally managing to transform the numerical superiority into superiority within the field.

The game passed into the hands of the ghost.

The Phantom managed the game, controlled the possession of the ball and avoided scares until the final whistle.

Maybe bigger in the result than in the performance during the 90 minutes, but absolutely important.

Inside the house, you have to win first

The Worker did not make a perfect match.

Too far from it.

For much of the first half, even playing with one extra player, it was CRB who presented the best football. This needs to be observed and corrected, because against more efficient opponents there will hardly be so much room for recovery.

But there is also the other side.

Competitive times need to learn to win when football doesn’t show up.

And the worker did exactly that.

When the collective did not work, Moraes Junior hit a bomb.

When he needed to zoom in, Ângel Torres found Vinícius Diniz.

When Luizinho Lopes noticed the problems, it moved into the gap.

And when the team finally fit in, Caio Dantas killed the game.
