Caixa releases money from old PIS/Pasep fund; see how to withdraw
Caixa pays new batch of the old PIS/Pasep fund this Saturday (25). See who is eligible, how to check and request the withdrawal.

On Friday (25) Caixa Econômica Federal held another round of payments of the old PIS/Pasep fund. The money is destined for workers with signed portfolios and public servants who worked between 1971 and 1988 and who still have undisclosed amounts.
In this lot, they receive the beneficiaries who made the request for compensation until August 31, 2026 and had the request approved. The official calendar of the Fund foresees new payments over the coming months.
The values refer to the old quotas of the Social Integration Program (PIS) and the Public Servant Heritage Training Program (Pasep). The compensation should not be confused with the current salary allowance of the PIS/Pasep, paid annually to workers who meet the criteria of the program.
Who is entitled to PIS/Pasep money?
Workers who exercised activity with a signed portfolio or as public servants between 1971 and 1988 and who did not make the withdrawal of the old quotas may have available values.
In case of death of the holder, dependents or legal successors can also request compensation, provided they present the required documentation.
Having worked in that period, however, does not automatically mean that there is money available. It is necessary to consult the individual balance.
How to check if there is money to receive
The consultation can be made free of charge by the Citizen Repis system, the Ministry of Finance, or by the FGTS application.
In Repis Cidadão, the interested party must access the system using the Gov.br account and check if there is a balance of the old quotas available for reimbursement.
In the case of a consultation carried out by an heir or beneficiary of a deceased person, access must be made with the interested party’s own Gov.br account, subsequently informing the deceased holder’s PIS/Pasep number.
It is also possible to obtain information directly from a Caixa agency.
How to ask for payment
Those who find available balance can request the reimbursement through the FGTS application or in person at a Caixa agency.
By application, the worker must look for the option related to the reimbursement of the PIS/Pasep, forward the requested documentation and follow the analysis of the request.
The Fund receives the requests and forwards the information to the Ministry of Finance, responsible for the analysis and authorization of the payment. After approval, the credit is carried out by the Box according to the established timetable.
The heirs may also request
When the worker who was entitled to the quotas has already died, dependents and legal successors can ask for the money.
Among the documents that can be required are official identification document, certificate with the relationship of dependents entitled to a death pension, letter of granting a pension, declaration issued by the body responsible for the payment of the benefit or judicial authorization, depending on each situation.

The calendar released by Caixa provides the following dates for orders made in the second half of 2026:
Order made before August 31st: payment on September 25th;
until 30 September: payment on 26 October;
until 31 October: payment on 25 November;
until 30 November: payment on 28 December;
until 31 December: payment scheduled for January 2027.
The payment depends on the approval of the application and also the availability of resources in the federal budget. If there are not enough resources in the year of application, the Fund informs that the amount may be paid in the following year, with correction.
What happened to the old fund?
The PIS/Pasep Fund gathered values destined for the individual accounts of private initiative workers and public servants.
With the changes promoted by the 1988 Constitution, new resources have ceased to be deposited in these individual accounts. The fund was eventually extinguished in 2020, when the remaining balances were transferred to FGTS.
Subsequently, the funds that continued without withdrawal were transferred to the single account of the National Treasury in August 2023. Even so, the holders or their legal beneficiaries have retained the right to request compensation.
How long is it possible to ask?
The interested parties have a period of five years counted from the closure of the accounts and the transfer of the values to the National Treasury. As the transfer took place in August 2023, the request could be made until 2028.
After the end of the legal period, the unclaimed amounts will be definitively incorporated into the National Treasury and can no longer be withdrawn.
