Jane Mara’s trial in Ponta Grossa was rescheduled after a court decision ordered the dismemberment of the case related to the death of Ricardo de Oliveira Osinski. The defense states that the measure was necessary in the face of the existence of new elements in the process and maintains that it seeks to guarantee broad defense and a judgement considered fair.

Ricardo was found dead on March 26, 2025, in an area close to Estrada do Alagado, in Ponta Grossa. The investigation led to the complaint against Pedro Henrique Pereira, Fernando Siqueira de Oliveira and Jane Mara de Souza for the murder.

Jane’s defense claims that, before the first date scheduled for the Jury Court, it identified the absence of an expert report related to the place where Ricardo was found. According to lawyer Ticiara Naiane Campos, the document was still in preparation when the session was about to take place.

According to the defense, the lack of such material could impair the jury’s analysis. The lawyer argues that a murder charge requires that all technical elements be available before the trial.

Another point presented by the defense was the award-winning collaboration signed by Pedro Henrique Pereira. According to the lawyer, the agreement brought a new version of the facts and attributed to Jane the condition of supposed commander of death.

The defense claims that Pedro presented different reports during the investigation and questions the need for Jane to be tried along with a collaborating mailman who began to file charges against her.

The case reached the Court of Justice of Paraná, which recognized the existence of a situation involving charges between the defendants themselves and ordered the dismemberment of the trials. The trial of Jane Mara will have a new date.

The defense claims that Jane denies having determined Ricardo's death and that she intends to present her version to the jury.

Remember the case of Ricardo Osinski

The death of Ricardo de Oliveira Osinski began to be investigated after the body of the victim was found in the region of Estrada do Alagado, in Ponta Grossa, on March 26, 2025.

According to the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR), the investigation pointed to suspicions involving financial movements made before and after the death. As reported by the police, the amounts were taken from the victim's accounts during the period investigated.

PCPR also reported that the investigation pointed to suspicions of private imprisonment, victim sedation and qualified homicide. The information is part of the thesis presented by the investigation and will be analyzed during the judicial process.

During the course of the case, Pedro Henrique Pereira confessed to participating in the death during the investigation and subsequently signed an award-winning collaboration agreement approved by the Justice.

According to the court decision, the collaboration presented elements related to the participation of the others involved. The full content of the statements will be analyzed within the process.

In addition to Jane Mara, there are also defendants Fernando Siqueira de Oliveira and Pedro Henrique Pereira. All three were charged with crimes related to Ricardo's murder.

The Justice maintained the preventive detention of the accused in a September 2026 decision. The responsible magistrate pointed out the permanence of the grounds used previously for the precautionary measure.

The Jury Court should examine the charges brought by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the arguments of the defences. Until a final decision, the persons involved remain in the condition of accused, with guarantee of the presumption of innocence.
