Civil Defense issues yellow alert for heavy rains in Paraná on Friday

The Defesa Civil do Paraná issued a yellow warning about the possibility of heavy rains in areas of the state on Friday (16). The warning is valid until 18:50 and draws attention to the occurrence of rain strokes accompanied by lightning and the possibility of gusts of wind.

According to the message sent by the Defesa Civil alert system, the guidance is for the population to redouble care during instability, especially in places considered at risk.

Defesa Civil guides population to seek shelter

In case of a storm, the recommendation is to avoid open areas and places that may present a risk of flooding, flooding or other problems caused by rain.

The Defesa Civil also directs that, in the face of the intensification of the storm, people seek shelter in a safe place and follow the updates of the official bodies.

In flood situations, the guidance of the state body is to leave places where the water level is rising and move to a safe area. It is also not recommended to cross floods or allow children to have contact with flood waters.

In case of rain-related occurrences, the population can trigger the Defesa Civil by phone 199 or the Fire Department by 193.

The Paraná maintains official systems for monitoring weather conditions and issuing alerts to the population. The Defesa Civil also provides guidance on prevention and procedures that should be adopted in disaster situations.
