Collision on BR-376 leaves five victims and one person dead; traffic blocked
Crash at km 539 of the highway mobilized teams; one victim was trapped in the wreckage and a medical helicopter was called
A serious accident was recorded on the morning of Friday (18) at km 539 of BR-376, in the region of Colônia Witmarsum, in Ponta Grossa. A truck went off the track and fell on a bank after, according to the first information obtained by the BnT Online, it was closed by another vehicle. Five people were in the truck at the time of the accident.
One of them died at the scene. Another victim was in serious condition and received assistance from the rescue teams. The other three people had minor injuries. According to initial information, the truck was heading north on the Paraná, towards Curitiba, when it was closed by another vehicle. The driver lost control of the steering, causing the vehicle to exit the track and fall into a waterfront area on the side of the highway.
The service mobilized teams from the Motiva dealership, responsible for the stretch, as well as two Samu ambulances, the Samu aeromedical and the Federal Road Police (PRF). The victim in serious condition received medical attention on site, while the other people involved were evaluated by emergency teams.

Due to the accident and the rescue work, the runway in the South direction of BR-376 was totally blocked during the attendance of the occurrence. So far, the identities of the victims have not been disclosed. The circumstances of the accident will still be determined by the responsible authorities.
