Cursinho that already served 8,000 students is targeted in theft in Ponta Grossa
Theft at Ponta Grossa cursinho hits GEPIC, which has already served nearly 8,000 students. The project asks for donations and volunteers to recover the space.

The theft of Ponta Grossa has reached the Immaculate Conception Pre-Vestibular Study Group (GEPIC), a free educational project that has been operating for almost 20 years in the city. Criminals took office supplies, furniture used by the students, kitchen utensils and products destined for a charity bazaar. The group, which has already served nearly 8,000 students, now asks the community for support to recover the space and strengthen security.
The objects were stored in a room used by the project. Among the stolen items are fans, desks, wallets, Christmas items and a large amount of office supplies. Other products may also have been taken, but have not yet been identified by those responsible.
Some of the materials would be marketed at a charity bazaar, whose collection would help to finance the free activities of the course. The kitchen utensils and other equipment would be used in the expansion of the structure.
Theft undermines GEPIC expansion plans
In addition to the material loss, the theft commits resources that would be destined to the maintenance and growth of the educational project.
GEPIC works to expand its activities, organize new environments and advance the formalization of the initiative.
“The proceeds from the bazaar would be an important source of resources to help continue to fund the project, as well as help make these expansion stages possible,” says GEPIC founder Rodrigo Milleo.
Project asks for donations and help from volunteers
After the theft of Ponta Grossa, the GEPIC leaders began a mobilization to obtain materials intended to strengthen the security of the storage room.
The initiative also seeks volunteers willing to collaborate with the reform of the space, contributing to protect the equipment and allow the continuity of activities.
According to Milleo, the support of the population will be important to overcome the losses and maintain growth plans.
“The collaboration of the community will be fundamental so that the project can overcome this episode and give continuity to the growth plans”, he emphasizes.
Those who can contribute with material donations or volunteer work can contact GEPIC by calling (42) 99931-6827.
GEPIC has already benefited almost 8,000 students
With almost two decades of experience in Ponta Grossa, the Immaculate Conception Pre-Vestibular Study Group offers free preparation for students who wish to enter higher education.
In 2026, approximately 170 students participate in the activities, held in classrooms and online. The work is developed with the collaboration of 70 volunteers.
Since the creation of the course, almost 8,000 students have already passed through the project, which has had the participation of more than 300 volunteers along its trajectory.
Considered by the group to be one of the largest voluntary education projects in the country, GEPIC relies on community collaboration to keep its activities free.
Now, in the face of the losses caused by theft, the priority is to recover the structure and ensure conditions for the educational work to continue benefiting students from Ponta Grossa and the region.
