Driver dies after collision between car and truck on BR-476
Accident on BR-476 in Lapa left a driver dead after a front collision between a Renault Oroch and a truck on Monday night (5)

A serious accident on BR-476 in Lapa ended with the death of a driver on Monday night (5). The collision took place around 9:50 p.m., at km 239 of the Shale Highway, near the Palmeirinha Restaurante.
According to the information passed on about the occurrence, the accident involved a Renault Oroch, with plates of São Mateus do Sul, and a Volkswagen Meteor, with plates of União da Vitória. The vehicles were reportedly involved in a frontal collision.
Driver was stuck in the hardware
On impact, the Oroch driver was stuck to the vehicle's hardware. Teams of the Lapa Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) of São Mateus do Sul were mobilized to respond to the occurrence.
The rescuers carried out the release of the victim and provided care even at the site of the accident. Despite attempts at resuscitation and the procedures performed by emergency teams, the driver did not resist the injuries and died.
To date, the identity of the victim has not been officially disclosed. The body was referred to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML) of Curitiba for the necessary procedures.
BR-476 was totally banned
Due to the severity of the accident and the work of the service teams, BR-476 had to be totally banned on the stretch.
The traffic interruption followed until approximately 0:30 this Tuesday (6), when the highway was released after the completion of the attendance of the occurrence and the necessary procedures on site.
The circumstances that caused the collision should be determined by the responsible authorities. The accident occurred on a stretch of the BR-476 that connects important municipalities of the region and is also used daily for the transport of cargoes and travel between cities of the Paraná.
