Driver dies after truck overturned on PR-239 in Sengés
A crash on PR-239 in Sengés leaves 48-year-old driver dead after truck overturned in the afternoon of this Thursday (23).
An accident on the PR-239 in Sengés ended with the death of a 48-year-old driver after a wagon fell on Wednesday afternoon. The occurrence was recorded around 14:45, in the km 00+400 of the highway, in the municipality of Sengés, region of Campos Gerais.
According to information from the Paraná Military Police, through the State Road Police Company (BPRv), the accident involved a set consisting of a Mercedes-Benz Actros truck and two Randon semi-trailers, all with plates from the municipality of Arapoti (PR).
According to the data collected at the site, the vehicle was traveling along the PR-239 in the direction of Itararé (SP) – Sengés when the landing occurred. The driver, a 48-year-old man, received assistance from rescue teams and was referred to the Itararé Hospital for medical attention.
Despite the help, the victim did not resist the injuries and died later in the hospital unit.
The accident on PR-239 in Sengés was attended by the teams responsible for recording the occurrence and collecting information on site. After the verification, the vehicles involved did not have administrative requirements and were released to the person in charge of the owner company, according to the procedure registered in the Electronic Traffic Accident Bulletin (BATEU).
The highway is used daily by cargo transport vehicles, especially due to the connection between municipalities of the Paraná and the border with the state of São Paulo. Incidents involving heavy vehicles require increased attention from drivers, especially in sections where there is a need for speed control and care with track conditions.
The circumstances that led to the overthrow will be analyzed by the responsible bodies. The full identification of the victim has not been officially released so far.
