Driver falls ill and collides with ambulance on PR-151 in Piraí do Sul
Accident on PR-151 in Piraí do Sul involves trucks and ambulance; collision occurred after the driver fell ill.
An accident on the PR-151 in Piraí do Sul left vehicles damaged in the afternoon of Thursday, after a collision involving a wagon, a truck and an ambulance on the stretch between Piraí do Sul and Jaguariaíva. Despite the impact, no one was injured and the service was registered as a casualtyless incident by the Paraná (PMPR) Military Police, through the Road Police Battalion (BPRv).
The occurrence was recorded at around 14:50, at km 249+050 of the state highway. According to information raised by the police team, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz truck, with plates of Presidente Prudente (SP), was ill while traveling around the site.
The vehicle was attached to an Iveco Stralis wagon, with plates by Alfredo Marcondes (SP). A team from the EPR was called in to provide care to the driver, who reportedly refused medical referral.
After leaving the scene, the driver ended up involved in a collision with an ambulance that was stopped on the highway. With the impact, there was material damage to the vehicles involved.
In addition to the Iveco Stralis wagon, a Ford Transit vehicle, with Pinhais (PR) plates, was also hit during the accident on the PR-151 in Piraí do Sul. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was not injured.
The driver of the 56-year-old Mercedes-Benz truck was also unharmed. According to the record of the occurrence, there was no need for hospital referral and the case was treated by the teams responsible for the stretch.
The Paraná Military Police, through the Road Police Battalion, carried out the procedures related to the accident. The incident was classified as a crash against a stationary vehicle, resulting only in material damage.
The PR-151 is one of the main road links of the Campos Gerais, with constant flow of cargo and passenger vehicles. Therefore, occurrences involving trucks and other vehicles often require attention from highway safety and maintenance teams.
The accident on the PR-151 in Piraí do Sul reinforces the importance of care during driving, especially in situations of physical discomfort or any change that may compromise traffic safety.
