Driver Nearly Hits Police Vehicle and Is Approached with Signs of Intoxication in Ponta Grossa
Driver showing signs of intoxication in Ponta Grossa was approached after driving in a zigzag manner. The driver was found to have a suspended CNH.
A driver with signs of drunkenness on Ponta Grossa was approached by a team of patrulhamento viário on Saturday night after the vehicle he was driving was seen zigzagging through the Avenida General Carlos Cavalcanti. According to the incident report, the car almost laterally hit a car.
The approach took place around 6:56 p.m., near the road number 3352. According to the information recorded by the Traffic and Road Safety team, the officers were conducting patrols when they noticed the irregular driving of a Volkswagen Fox.
After the order to stop, the driver responded to the request of the agents. Also according to the record of the occurrence, when leaving the vehicle he presented swaying and difficulty in speech, behaviors pointed out by the team as signs of possible alteration of psychomotor ability.
CNH was suspended
During the consultation with the systems, the agents found that the driver's National License (CNH) was suspended from July 1 to December 28, 2026.
Before the signals observed during the approach, the driver was offered the test of the ethylometer. According to the official report, the man agreed to perform the procedure.
However, even after several attempts, he was unable to blow properly for the device to perform the measurement.
The team reported that the difficulty in the execution of the procedure occurred due to the physical conditions presented by the driver at that time.
The term of observation has been drawn up
As it was not possible to complete the ethylometer test, the agents elaborated a term for the observation of signs of alteration of psychomotor capacity, a procedure used to record the characteristics observed during the monitoring.
The driver with signs of drunkenness in Ponta Grossa was then referred by the team to the 4th Regional of Flagrantes for the appropriate procedures. According to the record, he was conducted without resistance and arrived at the unit in its entirety.
The vehicle involved in the incident was seized.
The incident also resulted in the preparation of traffic infraction documents. Administrative measures and any criminal consequences related to the case shall be subject to the procedures of the responsible authorities. The occurrence was recorded based on the signs observed by the agents during the approach.
