Electoral propaganda: see what is allowed until Sunday and what is prohibited

Electoral hours end this Thursday; walks and campaign rallies can take place until Saturday, while ballot box mouth is a crime on voting day

The electoral propaganda enters the final straight before the first round of the 2026 elections, scheduled for Sunday (4). On Thursday, the free election hours will end on radio and television. Other campaign activities may still take place in the coming days, but they need to respect the deadlines set by Justiça Eleitoral.

The rules apply nationwide, including Ponta Grossa and the other municipalities of Campos Gerais. Voters and campaign teams should observe the differences between the acts allowed on the eve and the restrictions on election day.

In addition to free advertising on broadcasters, this Thursday is the last day for rallies and use of fixed sound equipment, between 8 am and midnight. The campaign closure rally may be extended for another two hours. The debates on radio and television also run until Thursday, but may extend until 7 a.m. on Friday (2).

Walks and carriages can take place until Saturday

Distribution of graphic material, walks, carriages and walks are allowed until 10 pm on Saturday (3), the day before the vote. These acts may be accompanied by a sound car or mini-trio, in compliance with legal requirements.

Paid advertising in newspapers and magazines, as well as the reproduction of these advertisements on the internet, can be carried until Friday (2). The paid or boosted circulation of electoral propaganda on the internet has a deadline until Thursday (1st).

What is prohibited on Sunday

On election day, asking for votes, distributing ballots or approaching people to try to influence their choice may characterize a mouthful of crime. rallies, carriages and the use of loudspeakers for electoral propaganda are also prohibited.

Until the end of the vote, the legislation prohibits agglomerations with standardized clothing or campaign materials that characterize collective demonstration of support for candidacies.

Elector can demonstrate preference individually

The individual and silent manifestation is allowed. The voter may use flags, pins and stickers to demonstrate his preference, provided that he does not participate in a collective demonstration.
