Elizabeth Schmidt reveals dream of building "mega-base" with bunker for the Municipal Civil Guard
During event of equipment delivery for the Municipal Civil Guard, mayor also congratulated security professionals

The mayor of Ponta Grossa, Elizabeth Schmidt, said that she intends to build a municipal base with bunker next to the Event Center until the end of the current management. The statement was made on Wednesday (14), during an event to deliver equipment to the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM).
“My dream is that by the end of management we will have a municipal base with bunker next to the Event Center,” said Elizabeth.
The proposal signals the intention of the municipal administration to expand the structure intended for public safety. The mayor, however, did not detail during the declaration the architectural design, the necessary investment or the schedule for the eventual construction of the structure.
The idea of concentrating security structures in the same location had also been publicly mentioned by the mayor in 2025. On the occasion, during a sabbath promoted by the Council of the Community, Elizabeth spoke about the desire to create a new headquarters for the Municipal Guard and a bunker to store weapons and equipment of the institution safely.
The Mayor congratulates security professionals
During Wednesday’s event, Elizabeth also congratulated the professionals working in the public safety of Ponta Grossa. The demonstration took place amid the delivery of equipment destined for the Municipal Civil Guard, a corporation that participates in patrol actions, incidents and protection of public spaces.
The appreciation of agents and the provision of adequate structure are important points for the functioning of teams. The delivery of equipment seeks to contribute to the working conditions of the servers and to the operational performance of the corporation.
Investments in the Municipal Civil Guard
Ponta Grossa has been making investments in equipment and armaments for GCM. In September, the City announced the delivery of 200 new pistols, in an acquisition of more than R$ 368,000. On the same occasion, three new dogs were presented to the Operations Group with Dogs, which now has nine animals in activity.

The commander of the Municipal Civil Guard, Alessandro de Macedo, also highlighted the advances in the structure of the corporation during the event on Wednesday. According to him, the intention is to ensure that all vehicles have the necessary equipment to attend the occurrences.
“All GCM vehicles will have complete equipment for service. In this management, we are with all our armed personnel. We have vehicles and equipment, only those who are blind do not see evolution,” said Macedo.
