Families from CRAS Jardim Carvalho participate in lecture on Electoral Law in PG

Families accompanied by the Integral Family Protection and Care Service (PAIF) of CRAS Jardim Carvalho, in Ponta Grossa, participated, last week, in an educational activity on Electoral Law. The initiative was promoted in partnership with the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) and aimed to expand access to information and strengthen the exercise of citizenship.

During the meeting, the participants received guidance on the functioning of the elections, the importance of voting and the attributions of political representatives. The lecture also presented the differences between the positions of Poder Legislativo, explaining the functions of deputies and senators and the way they are chosen by the population.

Information and citizenship

The activity integrates socio-educational actions aimed at families accompanied by the PAIF, a service that seeks to strengthen family and community ties, promote access to rights and encourage social participation.

The partnership with UEPG allowed to bring the academic knowledge of the community closer, offering participants information about the Brazilian electoral system and the role of elected representatives.

For the president of the Ponta Grossa Social Welfare Foundation (FASPG), Tatyana Belo, initiatives such as this contribute to expand the scope of the activities developed in the Social Welfare Reference Centers (CRAS).

“Bringing quality information on rights and citizenship to families accompanied by the PAIF is a way to strengthen social participation and bring the population closer to the full exercise of citizenship,” he said.

Partnership strengthens socio-educational actions

The meeting reinforces the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and social assistance services to bring relevant information to the population.

Through educational activities, CRAS Jardim Carvalho seeks to offer families accompanied by PAIF opportunities to expand their knowledge on rights and participation in society.

The initiative also highlights the role of information in citizen formation, allowing participants to better understand the functioning of public institutions and the responsibilities of representatives chosen by the vote.
