Flávio Bolsonaro comes to Ponta Grossa this Saturday; see the reason for the visit

Flávio Bolsonaro on Ponta Grossa will be the highlight of this Saturday’s political agenda (5) on Paraná. The candidate of the PL for the Presidency of the Republic will be in the city to visit Filipe Martins, former advisor of the former president Jair Bolsonaro, who is imprisoned in the Public Chain of Ponta Grossa.

The passage through the municipality is not part of an electoral agenda. The commitment is related exclusively to the meeting with Martins, which was authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF).

According to the court decision, Flávio Bolsonaro may stay for up to an hour with the former advisor. The visit should take place within the rules established by the Court and will also be attended by lawyer Jeffrey Chiquini, responsible for the defense of Filipe Martins.

After the meeting, there is a forecast of a rapid demonstration to the press in front of the Public Chain of Ponta Grossa. The attendance of journalists must take place between 13h and 14h30.

Filipe Martins is being held in the municipality after being sentenced to 21 years and six months in prison in the process related to the attempted coup d’état. The case involves investigations into an alleged joint to prevent the inauguration of President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2023.

The legal situation of the former adviser also returned to the public debate after questions involving migratory records used during the investigation. The documents were analyzed within the process that evaluated the possibility of escape of the convict.

Although the visit on Saturday has a restricted character, the Partido Liberal (PL) is already preparing a new passage of Flávio Bolsonaro through the Paraná with electoral focus. It is expected that a political agenda will be held next September 20.

The planning includes visits to municipalities such as Maringá, Cascavel and Foz do Iguaçu. Following, agendas are planned in Londrina, Ponta Grossa and Curitiba.

With this, the presence of Flávio Bolsonaro in Ponta Grossa on Saturday should move the regional political scene, even without official campaign commitments. The visit focuses attention on the city by the presence of one of the main names linked to the political group of the former president Jair Bolsonaro.
