Frontal collision between car and truck kills driver on BR-277 in Guarapuava
According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the car, traveling from Cascavel to Curitiba, invaded the opposite lane for unknown reasons and hit the truck, which was heading in the direction of Cascavel.
A 31-year-old man from São Paulo died in a head-on collision early Friday. The accident between a car and a truck occurred at kilometer 357 of BR-277, in Guarapuava.
According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the VW Virtus car, which was going from Cascavel to Curitiba, invaded the opposite lane, for reasons still unknown, and hit the truck, which was going in the Cascavel direction.
In the vehicle were two people: the driver, who died at the scene, and the passenger, who was rescued and taken to the hospital in Guarapuava. The driver of the cargo vehicle suffered no injuries.
The PRF said the circumstances that led to the invasion of the opposite band will still be determined. The highway remained totally prohibited for the performance of the expert work, being released later.
