Ideb highlights progress in learning in Ponta Grossa

The best result ever achieved by the Ponta Grossa Municipal Education Network in the Educação Básica Development Index (Ideb) is also reflected in the individual learning performance of schools. With a general score of 6.9, different units of the municipality recorded advances and outstanding results, based on strategies aimed at monitoring the learning of students.

The highest grade among the municipal schools was registered by the João Maria Cruz Municipal School, which reached 8.6 in Ideb. According to the Municipal Secretariat of Education, the unit maintained a continuous work of monitoring the students, with the application of simulated, analysis of the results, resumption of contents and use of resources of the Creative Learning Laboratory (LAC).

Another highlight was the Maria Laura Pereira Municipal School, located in the Neves neighborhood, which reached the 8.3. Among the actions developed are the monitoring of learning throughout the year, recomposition of contents, use of pedagogical materials, training of professionals and strategies adapted to the needs presented by students.

The school scored 1.8 points.

Among the units that showed the greatest growth is the Municipal School Marly Cecília Camargo Chiafitela, at Residencial América. The school rose from 5.2 to 7.0 in Ideb, an advance of 1.8 points.

The work involved simulated, identification of the skills that needed to be strengthened and targeted pedagogical planning. The actions also counted on the participation of different professionals of the school and activities developed in the Creative Learning Laboratory.

Positive results also appear in the rural area of Ponta Grossa. In the Itaiacoca district, the Escola Municipal Professora Maria Eulina Santos Scheena, located in Biscay, went from 7.02 to 7.1.

Even starting from an already high index, the unit was able to maintain the evolution through reading projects, logical reasoning activities, reviews, simulated and constant monitoring of students.

prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt said the results reflect the work done by the entire school community.

“This historic result is built by many hands. We have schools in different regions, with different realities, but all working to ensure that our children learn more and more. It is very important to be able to show these stories and recognize the work of each professional, student and family that is part of this achievement,” he said.

Strategies vary between schools

Despite the different realities of the units, some strategies appear in a recurring way, such as continuous monitoring of learning, reinforcement of contents, evaluation of results and integration between teachers, pedagogical teams, students and families.

Specific actions to strengthen learning were also presented by the municipal schools Aldo Bonde, Fioravante Slaviero, Protázio Scheifer and Professor Nelson Pereira Jorge.

Among the initiatives developed are the regrouping of students according to learning needs, sharing of practices between teachers, use of technology, application of simulated, recomposition of contents and reinforcement activities.

For the municipal secretary of Education, Joana D'Arc Panzarini Egg, the numbers demonstrate that the pedagogical work takes place in an integrated way throughout the network.

“Each school has its reality, its challenges and its strategies, but there is an articulated work throughout the Municipal Network. The pedagogical follow-up, the training of professionals, the materials available and the exchange of experiences between the units strengthen the work that takes place daily within the classrooms,” he said.
