The trial of three people accused of participating in an attempted qualifying murder against Maico Pires Santos, in Ponta Grossa, will no longer be held on Tuesday (8). The Court accepted a request made by the defences and rescheduled the session of the Jury Court for 24 November 2026 at 8.30 a.m.

The case took place on February 27, 2025, in the Boa Vista neighborhood, and draws attention to the circumstances described in the process: according to the prosecution, Maico was lured to a residence on the grounds that he would receive payment of a debt. He went to the address accompanied by his son, then only 6 years old.

The defendants are Ana Carla da Silva dos Santos, Guilherme Luiz Orlovski and Luiz Felipe Barbosa. The case proceeds before the Jury Court of Ponta Grossa and involves an accusation of attempted qualified murder.

The victim was found losing a lot of blood.

According to records reproduced in a decision of the Court of Justice of the Paraná, military police officers were called in to provide support to the Samu after Maico, seriously injured, managed to reach another residence to ask for help. When the teams arrived, they found the victim with gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, as well as intense blood loss. Maico remained hospitalized after the care.

According to the elements of the process, the immediate concern of the victim was with the son, who had accompanied the father to the address where the confusion occurred and would have remained in the place during part of the events.

Accusation points to ambush motivated by debt

The version presented by the indictment is that Maico received a call to go to the residence because a debt would be paid. When he arrived at the address with his son, however, he would have been surprised.

In a statement reproduced by TJPR, the victim stated that, after realizing that the payment would not be made and deciding to leave the residence, she had been attacked. The Public Prosecutor’s Office maintains that there was a joint action against Maico and points to the qualifiers of awkward motive and appeal that would have hindered the defense of the victim.

In addition to the attempted murder, the three were pronounced for trial also in relation to a charge of qualified theft. According to the lawsuit, property belonging to the victim was stolen. The ruling determined that the charges were to be submitted to the Judgment Council.

Suspect found hidden

Another detail recorded in the autos occurred shortly after the care of the victim. Police followed traces of blood in the area and arrived at a nearby residence. In the property, Guilherme Luiz Orlovski was located hidden in the bathroom, between clothes. He had injuries to his hands, was taken to medical care and subsequently referred to the police station for the procedures of the occurrence.

The case also has divergent versions of what happened that night. One of the defensive theses argues that Maico would have arrived at the property armed with a knife and exalted, and that the episode would have occurred in the context of a previous disagreement involving debt.

The defenses appealed the decision that brought the three defendants to the Jury Court. Among the requests submitted were the impronunciation, the declassification of the crime and the withdrawal of the qualifiers. The Court of Justice of Paraná, however, maintained the referral of the case to the jury, considering the existence of proof of materiality and sufficient evidence for the accusations to be examined by the Judgment Council.

The trial goes to November

The jury was scheduled for Tuesday, but a decision signed on September 4 changed the schedule. Judge Luiz Carlos Fortes Bittencourt recorded that he accepted the request submitted by the defenses and redesignated the session for November 24, at 8:30 a.m. The dispatch does not inform, in the document made available, what was the specific basis used by the defenses to request the postponement.

Days earlier, on August 31, the lawyers representing Guilherme Luiz Orlovski had renounced the defense. The court ordered that he constitute a new defender within 48 hours and established the appointment of a lawyer if this did not occur. The document, however, does not state that this move was the cause of the jury’s postponement.

The decision to pronounce does not represent a condemnation. The three defendants will be submitted to the Jury Court, responsible for deciding on guilt or innocence in relation to the charges that remain in the process.
