Justice converts to preventive detention of 5 investigated in Hugo Gabriel Moll's homicide in PG
Hugo Gabriel Moll was killed on June 19. Police say the target was another man at the scene and that the crime was planned a month in advance.
The Civil Police of Ponta Grossa, reported that the Justice deferred police representation and converted the temporary arrest into preventive detention of five investigated for the murder of Hugo Gabriel Moll and the attempted murder of João Victor Pereira. The crimes occurred on June 19, 2026, inside a barber shop in Ponta Grossa.
According to the investigation, Hugo was killed by mistake. The attack was directed at an individual who was in the barbershop just before the crime and who had been subjected to death threats. The Civil Police also pointed out that the real target has involvement with drug trafficking in the region.
The investigation revealed that the crime was planned at least a month in advance and executed in a structured manner.
The research identified:
- Shooter: 26-year-old man, pointed to as the shooter who killed Hugo. He confessed to participating.
- Motorcycle driver: 27-year-old man who escaped the shooter. He confessed, too.
- Commander and logistics coordinator: 34-year-old man, responsible for intermediating the contact between the driver and the executor, providing the armament and guiding the action.
- Logistics Supporter: 25-year-old man, who provided shelter and meeting point for the executioner, co-opted the shooter and kept and concealed the weapons used in the crime. He was under electronic monitoring by anklet at the time of the facts.
- Mandant and intellectual articulator: 31-year-old businessman, who would have helped in the planning and introduced the executor in the criminal context of the region.
The five remain in custody at the disposal of the court.
The Civil Police also clarified the situation of two other investigators, aged 19 and 26, who were temporarily detained. For them, there was no representation by the conversion into preventive. According to the corporation, although there are indications that they had prior knowledge of the planning, the material analyzed so far does not prove direct aid in the murder.
The Civil Police awaits the conclusion of complementary steps, mainly the analysis of the data of the seized mobile phones, to define precisely the involvement of the two.
The investigations enter the final line and are expected to be completed soon, the 13th SDP said.
