Man Found Dead in Creek One Day After Leaving Prison in Ponta Grossa

A 36-year-old man was found dead inside a stream in the Vila Nova region at Ponta Grossa. The case was registered in the early hours of Sunday (24), around 5 am, in Rua Januário Teodoro. According to preliminary information, the victim had left the prison just one day before being found dead.

The incident mobilized teams of the Fire Department, the Scientific Police and the Civil Police. Upon arriving at the address, the professionals located the body in the watercourse and began the necessary procedures for the removal of the victim.

The victim showed signs of violence

During the initial evaluation, injuries consistent with gunshots were identified, as well as injuries caused by physical aggressions. Information indicates that the man was stabbed and beaten with a blunt object, possibly a piece of wood.

The Scientific Police carried out the expert procedures to gather elements that could contribute to the clarification of the circumstances of the death.

After the work of the security teams, the body was collected and sent to the Medical-Legal Institute (IML), where it would pass the necessary examinations.

Police investigate circumstances of the murder

One of the aspects that draw attention in the case is the short interval between the departure of the victim from the prison system and the occurrence of the crime.

Despite this information, there is still no confirmation that the passage through prison has a direct relationship with the murder.

The Civil Police should investigate the authorship and motivation of the murder, in addition to seeking information that helps to reconstruct the last moments of the victim.

To date, no information has been disclosed about possible suspects or arrests related to the occurrence.

The case is still under investigation.
