Man is arrested after assaulting and preventing his partner from leaving home in Ponta Grossa

A 28-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Thursday in Ponta Grossa for preventing a 19-year-old companion from leaving her home and physically assaulting her.

The case was registered at around 2:43 a.m. in São Marcos Street, in the Chapada neighborhood. During patrol, the police team was approached by a 48-year-old man, who drove the young woman to the vehicle.

She reported that she suffered physical assaults, death threats and was prevented from leaving the house by the cohabitant. The victim had injuries to the neck and mouth and managed to escape the author.

With the support of other police teams, the author was located at his residence. In the place, were found signs of domestic violence, as well as belongings of the victim being burned.

The young woman was referred to the Pronto Atendimento Unit (UPA) for medical care and examination of bodily injuries. The man was taken to the Civil Police Station for appropriate measures.

The case was recorded as kidnapping and private imprisonment and bodily injury in the context of domestic and family violence.
