Man is arrested after attempting to run over police and fleeing with over 2 kg of marijuana in Telêmaco Borba

A man was arrested on Sunday morning after attempting to run over military officers of the 26th Battalion and fleeing an approach in the municipality of Telêmaco Borba. During the escape attempt, the suspect threw more than 2 kg of marijuana out of the vehicle.
The action began after the police team received an anonymous complaint in the Area III neighborhood, informing that an individual was placing suspicious packages inside a silver truck.
In patrolling the area, police located the vehicle in the parking lot of a wholesale supermarket.
Upon noticing the presence of the car, the driver refused to disembark and began to make maneuvers to escape. At one point, he accelerated the truck towards the police, putting the team at risk. To contain the threat and try to stop the car, officers fired shots at the truck’s tires, but the driver managed to leave the scene.
A tactical follow-up was initiated with the support of other military police teams. During the chase through the streets of the neighborhood, the police saw the driver throwing three objects of orange color in a vacant lot.
Shortly after, the suspect interrupted the march and surrendered after verbal orders from the agents.
In the scan made on the ground where the objects were dispensed, the team found three marijuana tablets, totaling approximately 2,037 kg. The driver, who admitted to fear of being arrested for already having a previous conviction for drug trafficking, received a voice of arrest.
The truck, the narcotics and a cellular device were seized and referred to the 18th Police Subdivision for appropriate measures.
