29-year-old man is indicted by Civil Police after suspicion of masturbating in front of three teenagers near school in Mallet, Paraná
The Paraná Civil Police has concluded investigations into a case of sexual violence involving three 13-year-olds in the vicinity of a school in the municipality of Mallet, in the Central-South region of the state. A 29-year-old man was charged with allegedly engaging in sexual acts in front of students while staying inside a car.
The episode took place on September 24, 2026, in Estanislau Gluszczynski Street, near the Civic-Military College Nicolaus Copernicus. According to the information obtained by the 10th Regional Police Station, the teenagers realized that a man was masturbating inside a car while directing his gaze at them.
After the incident, the situation became known to the network of protection of children and adolescents. The case was referred to the Guardian Council and, subsequently, to the Civil Police, which initiated the procedures to identify the person responsible.
During the diligence, the investigators were able to locate information about the car used in the episode. The identification of the owner allowed the police team to reach the suspect, who ended up indicted after the conclusion of the investigation.
Suspect may answer for crime against sexual dignity
The framework presented by the Civil Police is related to article 218-A of the Criminal Code, which deals with the practice of lewd acts in the presence of children or adolescents under 14 years of age.
According to the information disclosed by the corporation, the legislation provides for a sentence of five to 12 years of imprisonment, in addition to a fine, considering the changes introduced by Law No. 15.280/2025.
As the investigation involves three teenagers, criminal accountability may consider the existence of multiple victims, a circumstance that may result in a punishment exceeding the maximum penalty for a single crime. The definition will depend on the assessment of the Justice.
The indictment represents a conclusion of the police investigation, but does not amount to a conviction. It will be up to the competent authorities to examine the case and decide on the next steps in the process.
Police reinforce the importance of complaints
In the face of the episode, the Civil Police drew attention to the severity of sexual behaviors deliberately practiced in the presence of children and adolescents.
The institution emphasizes that the absence of physical contact does not prevent the configuration of certain sexual crimes. Attitudes of this nature can cause embarrassment and represent a violation of the sexual dignity of the victims.
The guidance is for families, educators and other members of the school community to observe suspicious situations, especially in the paths used by students to arrive or leave the educational institutions.
The Civil Police also reinforces that rapid communication of occurrences to protection bodies and security forces is essential to enable the investigation, identify those involved and prevent new episodes.
The sentence foreseen for the crime has been confirmed in the updated federal legislation.
