Domestic violence in Palmeira: man is arrested preventively after investigation points to violation of protective measure

Domestic violence in Palmeira resulted in the pre-trial detention of a man under investigation for failing to comply with emergency protective measures granted to the victim. The warrant was carried out on Thursday (17) by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR), through the 40th Regional Police Station (DRP) of Palmeira.
According to the Civil Police, the arrest warrant was issued by the Single Court of the Comarca of Palmeira. The investigated person is investigated for the crime of non-compliance with emergency protective measures, provided for in article 24-A of Law No. 11.340/2006, known as the Maria da Penha Law.
Occurrence history
According to the investigations of PCPR, there were already other occurrence reports involving the same man and the same victim. The records include episodes of aggression dating back to 2022, as well as new occurrences recorded throughout 2026.
According to the Civil Police, pretrial detention was requested after the identification of new episodes and the non-compliance with the protective measures determined in favor of the victim.
The judicial decision considered, among other aspects, the need to protect the physical and psychological integrity of women, the guarantee of public order and the compliance with emergency protective measures.
The warrant was based on articles 282, 311, 312 and 313, subsection III, of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in conjunction with article 20 of the Maria da Penha Law.
Investigated remained silent
After being arrested, the man was questioned at the police station. According to PCPR, he was accompanied by a lawyer and chose to exercise the constitutional right to remain silent, without clarifying the facts investigated.
After the procedures carried out in the police unit, the investigated person was referred to the State Prison Hildebrando de Souza, in Ponta Grossa. He remains at the disposal of justice.
The case continues under the supervision of the responsible authorities.
