Sergio Moro made a positive evaluation of the electoral campaign on Sunday (4), the day of the first round of the 2026 elections. In a press interview, the candidate said that the contact with voters in the streets increased the group’s confidence in the final straight of the dispute and stressed that his campaign sought to present proposals for the Paraná without leaving national issues aside.

Moro cited as an example the carriage held on Saturday (3), in Curitiba, on the last day allowed for campaigning before the vote.

“We are excited by what we have seen on the street. [...] We feel the enthusiasm. This gives us growing confidence and renews our strength,” he said.

According to him, the message conveyed during the campaign was based on “endurance, resilience and tenacity”. Moro also stated that he intends to use these characteristics to defend the interests of the people of Paraná.

Moro rebuffs criticism on nationalization of the campaign

Asked about criticism from opponents that his candidacy would have given excessive space to national issues and presented few specific proposals for the Paraná, Moro rebuffed.

The candidate declared to consider his government plan the “best” among the competitors and claimed to have a technical team prepared to execute the proposals.

According to Moro, issues related to the national political scenario also need to be part of the state debate because, in his assessment, the decisions taken in Brasilia directly influence the future of Paraná.

“We cannot ignore the moment that our country is passing and the need also to transform Brazil,” he said.

Moro also stated that he presented proposals related to areas such as health, public safety and education during the debates held throughout the campaign.

Relationship with Ratinho Junior

During the interview, Sergio Moro was also asked about governador Ratinho Junior statements made during the campaign.

Moro said he did not consider the governor his adversary and attributed the harshest statements to the electoral climate.

“He used a few stronger words, probably because of the election moment,” he said. He then stated that he intends to put aside the campaign’s differences and “look at the future of the Paraná.”

Status of Deltan Dallagnol

Moro also welcomed the decision taken on Sunday by the President of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Kassio Nunes Marques, related to the candidacy of Deltan Dallagnol (New) for the Senate.

Nunes Marques overturned the individual decision of Minister Floriano de Azevedo Marques who had denied Dallagnol’s registration. With the new determination, the registration was re-recorded as “referred to with appeal”, allowing the votes destined for the candidate to be counted.

But the situation is not yet definitive. The case should be analyzed by the plenary of the TSE.

Moro’s remarks came during Sunday’s vote, when Paranaenses choose representatives for the positions in dispute in the 2026 elections.
